Dental Bridges

Serving Fort Lauderdale, Boynton Beach, Palm Beach, West Palm Beach, and Boca Raton, Florida

If you have ever lost one of your adult teeth, you may have had the gap filled with a dental bridge. This can be an excellent way to repair that loss. Cosmetic Dentist, Dr. Sarris also offers the option of dental implants, which are artificial tooth roots implanted in the jawbone to permanently hold one or more replacement teeth.

A dental implant procedure fills both the gap left by the missing tooth root and the gap left by the lost tooth. Depending on your circumstances, a bridge may be the best choice, or dental implants may be.

Every dental bridge is individual, depending on your exact dental needs. They are sometimes called “partial fixed dentures.” You can have a fixed bridge or a removable bridge. Dental implants can anchor a bridge, either fixed or removable.

When they are well-designed, bridges are comfortable and function like your natural teeth. Dr. Sarris will make your bridge of white dental porcelain which is indistinguishable from tooth enamel. It is stain-resistant. He will choose the best shade of white to match your natural teeth

Making Dental Bridges

The most commonly used type of bridge is supported by crowns placed in the neighboring teeth. Those teeth are prepared by removing a portion of enamel to make room for the crowns. Then Dr. Sarris will take an impression of them and of the gap created by the missing tooth or teeth. Our dental lab technician, who is highly trained by the  Las Vegas Institute for Advanced Dental Studies, will then create the dental bridge from porcelain to fit your mouth exactly.

LVI trains dental assistants and lab technicians as well as dentists. Our technician has thorough training in how to work with porcelain and your bridge will be invisible as a bridge – it will look like natural teeth.

Dr. Sarris will bond the crowns to your supporting teeth and the replacement tooth will neatly fill the gap.

You can use the dental bridge as you would your natural teeth. Give it the same daily hygiene with brushing and flossing, to keep bacteria from spreading beneath the crowns or below the gumline. It will give you many years of excellent service.
