A porcelain veneer is a thin piece of porcelain shaped in a customized way and cemented to your prepared tooth to create a natural- and perfect-looking tooth. Porcelain veneers, also called dental veneers, have made all the difference for hundreds of thousands of individuals who have pursued having beautiful smiles.
You can have one porcelain veneer or multiple veneers to create your entirely new smile. They are placed on front teeth only, teeth that are visible in your smile.
Porcelain Veneers Procedure
After West Palm Beach Cosmetic Dentist, Dr. Sarris has answered your questions and you are both satisfied that veneers are the way to go, he will prepare your teeth by removing a thin layer of the enamel so the veneers will line up evenly with the neighboring teeth.
He then creates a dental mold to guide our LVI-trained dental lab technician. Because your porcelain veneers will require two visits, Dr. Sarris may provide you with temporary dental veneers. Very little enamel is removed, so this is optional.
Once the porcelain veneers are bonded to your teeth with dental cement, they perform exactly like your natural teeth and look completely natural. Many patients who have had smile makeovers comment that their friends and relatives ask if they have lost weight, gone on vacation, or even had a facelift.
Porcelain veneers can be used independently of smile makeovers. They can be a standalone correction for:
- Gaps between teeth
